‘All Connects Here.’
I use visual art to explore connections between ecology and neuro-nonconformance.
My work arises from a deep somatic sense of connection felt when absorbed in close observation of the more-than-human - most often birdlife.
When painting with inks, I capture the character and movement of those I have spent time with. My paintings are also my chance to recreate and share the embodied sense of joy and connection felt.
In addition, I develop 3D expressions of these sensory interactions. These installations provide extended scope for expression of a wider range of experience in relation to ecology. They also support my exploration of contrasting experiences, as a challenge to systems that attempt to suppress diversity and complexity.
Most recently, my practice has increasingly included performance and filmmaking. Through these mediums, I am exploring alternative rewilded futures and the paths towards them.
