Kristen is a multimedia artist based in Southwest England. Her practice investigates diversity, ecology and our relationships to ourselves and other through lenses of neuro-nonconformity, activism and somatic responses to birdlife.

Engaging in site-specific collaborations with human and nonhuman beings, Kristen layers ink painting, film, performance, alternative photography, animation, poetry and found sound. These mediums interact to produce uncanny audiovisual experiences that navigate tensions between communication and ambiguity, entanglement and withdrawal.

Kristen’s film installation Crossing brought audiences into interaction with emotionally expressive ink drawn gulls. alongside footage of Kristen’s somatically responsive live performance.

In Submerged, an immersive installation and live performance, audio from contact mics was amplified through speakers into the building space, while layered hand-drawn animation played out on translucent tulle.
