One of a series of three cyanotypes in which I explore the possibility of accessing a sense of belonging, even while experiencing isolation.  The images recall us to our experiences of landscape and ourselves. Nature is both in the world around us and, importantly, within us. Even when we feel disconnected and are unable to physically access the world outside these works remind us that we still belong.

I used hand cut stencils and, gathered from the Somerset levels, fallen foliage, feathers and a butterfly wing are used to add a further sense of place and element.

In this series three of the four elements are shown, with our physical selves representing the fourth element of earth.
